Interiors of buildings in Newport. These buildings often show early timber-framing inside, which is not evident from the outside. Renovations and modern shop frontages have hidden the early buildings. Many timber framed buildings survived the Great Fire of Newport in 1665, which the History Society believe raged on the south and south west part of the High Street.
