Objects from Bridgnorth friary

These objects were discovered during excavations in 1989 prior to redevelopment on the site of the former Southwells Carpet Factory, Bridgnorth.

	Medieval floor tile from Bridgnorth friary (image) This object was found during excavations in 1989 prior to redevelopment on the site of the former Southwells Carpet Factory, Bridgnorth. It is a floor tile dating from the medieval period and is decorated with a leaf pattern.

It is a fragment from a salt cruet dating from the 15th century. The hands would probably have held a phallic shaped handle.

It is the rimmed edge of a storage jar with traces of a light yellow glaze. It dates from the 13th or early 14th centuries.

It is the base of a table flagon which has been dipped in green glaze. It dates from the 13th or early 14th centuries.

It is a late medieval book clasp which kept a book closed when not in use. It dates from the 14th Century and is made of a copper alloy.
