These include mounted specimens of birds and mammals, an osteology (or bone) collection and a fluid collection.
Many of these specimens date from the 19th Century and show us just how popular the collecting of specimens from the natural world must have been. Taxidermists such as Shaw of Shrewsbury would have been highly regarded and their work still survives today.
More recent additions include a Great Northern Diver, which was a young bird that died after landing on a wet road in Much Wenlock.
