Plough Inn, The Square, Shrewsbury (image)
The Plough has been an inn since 1686, if not earlier. It occupies part of the "Shields" or "Selds" a long timber-framed row occupying much of the west side of The Square. It was raised in height by an extra, realistically framed, storey early in the 20th Century.
