Mardol Quay was created by Rowland Jones in 1607. It lay outside the town wall adjacent to the old St. George's Bridge. The town wall can be seen in this view, incorporated into later quayside buildings. 2d was charged for every ton of goods brought to the quay by a Shrewsbury burgess; "foreigners" had to pay 4d.
