This shows a very early stage of the process of creating the 1630 Shrewsbury map. Several changes would be made to this drawing before the painting stage was reached. St. Chad's church tower would be reduced as would the height of properties in Princess Street. Vaughan's Mansion, in the foreground, would also have to be lengthened.
