Interior of Talbot chapel, which is the surviving south aisle of the original church, which was demolished in 1803. Here, showing the memorial to Thomas Talbot (died 30.6.1686) and erected by his wife, Frances. Part of the inscription reads, " They were a rare example of true conjugal love, whom, when death had cruelly parted, the grave more kindly reunited..... His hon'ble Lady, who was a saint before, began to be an angel now. She had now no care on earth and all her aim was heaven". The full text can be found in a Newport Advertiser article 31.08.1979.
