Here shown being painted by Harold Mansell of Bromfields. In its heyday there were 14 workers filling the grain bins, which could take 5,000 tons of corn. The silo was built in World War ll to keep the country self- sufficient in grain. Currently the silo's owners are Mornflakes and it is used as a grain store for wheat and oats.
