The Ark Stores, 48 High Street, Newport
48, High Street. Run by Mr Edward Evans. Business existed from 1881-1941. Building demolished and a new Woolworths store built in the 1960s now occupies part of the site. The Ark stores briefly moved to the west side of the High Street.
