Henry Howle, Newport photographer
Early image from the photographer Henry Howle (working c. 1863 -1885), showing an unidentified child to the left, and to the right (the reverse), showing his business card. Henry Howle was born in Tibberton, and worked from 14 High Street. By 1901 the census shows his widow Elizabeth (82) as the photographer and her son(51) William as the assistant. He eventually took over the business in the early years of the 20th century.
