1 High Street. Interior, first floor. The roof timbers of the main chamber. These timbers are at the apex of the medieval open hall, and were hidden for centuries when an attic was put in. If you came into this building in about AD1500, you would be able to see right from floor to roof. These timbers were felled in 1487 and the building was probably erected in the 1490s. Taken during restoration.
