When this photograph was taken in March 1939, the licensee was Richard Jones, who rented the house from the Brewer, W Butlers & Son, Springfield Brewery, Wolverhampton.
At the time the house was only licensed to sell beer and tobacco.
The terraced houses at the side of the pub have now been demolished.
