This meeting is where the business of the day is decided upon. Monks can also accuse each other of bad behaviour and punishments can be decided upon. It is called the chapter house because a chapter from the monastic rules is read out before the meeting begins. Monks are afterwards allowed a period of conversation walking around the cloister.
