This site is located on the junction of Battlefield Road and Harlescott Lane.
It is currently being developed as the site of a new Tesco’s superstore adjacent to the Park and Ride site. Prior to this, the site was occupied by the Shrewsbury Smithfield livestock market from 1956 to 2006 when the market relocated to a new site a mile further to the north on the Battlefield link road.
The market was at one time one of the largest livestock markets in England.
