A tree and hedgerow survey is being conducted in Acton Scott parish by Heritage Project volunteers.
A tree and hedgerow survey is being conducted in Acton Scott parish by Heritage Project volunteers.
A number of volunteers received training from our resident experts, Ian Dormor and Rob McBride. Having learned how to date hedgerows, and how to recognise and differentiate between coppiced, pollarded, and maiden trees. Thus armed, they have been divided into teams, each assigned an area within the Parish in which they will conduct detailed studies. The information they collect will be melded with the other studies to add to the understanding of how humans have lived through the ages in what is now Acton Scott Parish.
