Background
Museum on the Move delivers a high quality learning and museum experience to diverse and isolated audiences, from travellers on sites to older people in retirement homes. Many of these audiences are challenged by the cost of coach travel and the logistics of undertaking a museum visit.
Museum on the Move is delivered by a six-way partnership. The research and development of the Cultural Olympiad exhibition will also bring into this partnership archives, libraries, sport development teams, local history societies and both local and regional cultural consortia with links to the 2012 Olympic project teams. Funding of £196,000 for the production and tour of this exhibition has been secured from Renaissance West Midland’s Business Plan for 2008-2009.
