Shops of Wenlock interactive resource

The Much Wenlock Civic Society began the process of researching the history of some of the town's shops. Suzanne Boulos then used this as a basis on which to build further information. Old 1950s black & white photos from Abbeycolor are used where available to illustrate the webpages. More recent photos have been provided by Wilson and Suzanne Boulos.

By putting this information on our website we hope to make this impact of our town's history more accessible to locals and visitors alike. This is an on-going process and further specific information about any of the shops would be welcome.

Webpages for each shop can be found by firstly clicking on hotspotted areas on the map of the town centre, then by clicking on the drawing of the shop on the page that comes up. (In the case of High Street and Sheinton Street this will be a building plot on a map rather than a drawing of the building).
